Xapika Engineering Visits InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin

Our team explored the latest in rolling stock, digital maintenance and rail technology at the 30th-anniversary edition of the world’s leading transport technology trade fair.
Xapika Engineering visited InnoTrans 2026, held at Messe Berlin from 22 to 25 September. InnoTrans is the leading international trade fair for transport technology, covering railway technology, infrastructure, public transport, interiors and tunnel construction. This year’s 30th-anniversary edition set new records: 3,190 exhibitors from 59 countries and around 175,000 trade visitors from 128 countries, with 180 world premieres and 113 vehicles on display.
A closer look at modern rolling stock
Walking the outdoor tracks and exhibition halls, our team was able to look closely at full-size rolling stock: the exterior, the driver’s cab, the passenger areas, and the equipment and systems mounted beneath the vehicle. Among the vehicles we saw were a Frecciarossa high-speed train, NEWAG’s Griffin 200 locomotive for PKP Intercity, and Siemens Mobility’s new Vectron X.

AI and digitalisation at the centre of rail
It was also clear that AI, digitalisation and automation have become defining themes of the industry. Across the fair, we saw data-driven and automated approaches applied to vehicle maintenance, inspection and diagnostics, and infrastructure management.
These trends connect directly to our work in rail maintenance, rolling stock supply chain management, and digital asset management through our MMIS platform. Seeing the technologies already in use gave us a practical perspective on how data and digital tools can improve maintenance efficiency and operational reliability.

Building connections across the industry
Above all, InnoTrans was a valuable opportunity to meet rolling stock manufacturers, technology companies, and component and solution suppliers from around the world in person. It also let us explore potential collaboration and new business opportunities.
Drawing on the experience and insights gained in Berlin, Xapika Engineering will continue to bring together rail maintenance, supply chain and digital technology, and contribute to safer, more reliable railway systems.
